State-Recognized Tribal Artists Guild Code of Ethics

All members of the State-Recognized Tribal Artists Guild meet the guidelines of The Indian Arts and Crafts Act and agree to adhere to the following:

  • We agree to represent true Indian arts and crafts as to the nature and origin within the realm of our control. We agree to offer return privileges for articles found by the State-Recognized Tribal Artists Guild to have been misrepresented by ourselves.
  • We agree to abide by all federal, state, local, and tribal laws pertaining to Indian arts & crafts, artifacts, and natural resources.
  • We agree to maintain ethical business conduct regarding advertising, appraising, pricing and any guarantees offered by ourselves.
  • We agree to respect and support the ethical business activities of the State-Recognized Tribal Artists Guild members.
  • We agree to encourage consumer confidence in the authenticity of all articles we have identified with the State-Recognized Tribal Artists Guild seal/logo or certification seal.
  • We agree to work with law enforcement agencies and the State-Recognized Tribal Artists Guild in any investigations of crimes involving the Indian Arts and Crafts Act and we will promote proper identification of Indian Arts and Crafts.
  • As a State-Recognized Tribal Artists Guild member, we agree to no lateral oppression or violence against any State-Recognized Tribal Artists Guild member.
