Indian Arts & Crafts Act

"The Indian Arts & Crafts Act (IACA) of 1990 (P.L. 101-644) is a truth-in-advertising law that prohibits misrepresentation in the marketing of Indian art & craft products within the United States."

"Under the IACA, an Indian is defined as a member of any federally or officially State recognized tribe of the United States, or an individual certified as an Indian artisan by an Indian tribe."

"SRTAG represents all Official State Recognized Tribes across 5 regions of the United States. We do not represent tribes, groups or bands that are not considered official. "

"Offical means tribes that are found from the following: the National Congress of American Indians, the National Conference of State Legislatures and Individual State Indian Affairs Commissions."
